Dckne - Fantastic Planet Mix : La Planète Sauvage meets Hip-hop
"Ni les hommes, ni les drags n'ont intérêt à se détruire. Il nous faut tenter de faire la paix."
René Laloux and Roland Topor's "Fantastic Planet" (original title : "La Planète Sauvage", 1973) has inspired countless artists. The movie soundtrack has been a source of supply for numerous music producers, especially Hip-hop track makers. Madlib's "Come on feet" is one good example of what it's like when sampling is masterfully done.
This mix is an enhanced version of the one that was published 2 years ago. It is composed of 38 tracks, including interludes sampled from the movie, a selection of compositions from the o.s.t. and some indie hip-hop tunes containing samples from it. You will also find a special MF DOOM / Run the Jewels mashup song. Finally, the mix comes with a unique original illustrated cover also made by Dckne.
Let's dig deeper into the modern universe of "La Planète Sauvage", and highlight some stuff that you might have missed out!
