"As jazz fans we’re quite blessed to be able to witness something like this in our lifetimes.."
The output of jazz coming out of the UK in recent times has been quite a phenomenon. It’s not often that you get to witness a musical genre re-emerge thanks to the passion of a younger generation. None of this comes out of the blue, however, as it takes a perfect storm for something like this to take place. Whether it’s the formation of an organization like Tomorrow’s Warriors to cultivate and inspire the youth, growing up and developing their sound with other supremely talented young musicians (some of them living in close proximity of each other), or coming up in a city rich with musical heritage (a la London), as jazz fans we’re quite blessed to be able to witness something like this in our lifetimes.

"I went through my record collection to pick out some of my favorite UK jazz releases over the past few years. Some of them consist of the superstars that came out of the current movement, as well as some established UK jazz veterans whose music I’ve always admired. Seeing such movements also pop up in countries like Australia or South Africa gives me great hope for jazz music and I think we’ll have much to look forward to in the years to come"
